GREAT EXAMPLE IN IMMIGRATION
Scripture shows that those coming from foreign countries, who live peacefully within the law are ‘grafted in’ actually becoming part of us. Three million enter the U.S. as legal residents each year. One million become U.S. citizens in addition to those who become citizens of Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
These newcomers contribute to our national prosperity. They celebrate our achievements, suffer with us in our trials, and should be given every opportunity to achieve their highest human potential. No other nations in world history have had these immigration rates. The American and British peoples have set an excellent example to the rest of the world.
In addition, billions of dollars are sent to families around the world to improve conditions in developing countries. Our thanks goes to the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. It has been my privilege to have lived in four of these five countries and have been a U.S. citizen for almost 30 years.
